Balder Denmark introduces joint executive management with two Co-CEOs

As of 1 June 2026, Christina Holberg Fenger assumes the role of Co-CEO at Balder. She will share the position with Flemming Joseph Jensen, who has served as CEO since 2019 and now transitions to the role of Co-CEO.

The change formalises a partnership that has already been successfully leading Balder Denmark for several years.

“I am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me, and I look forward to continuing the strong collaboration with Flemming through our shared leadership,” says Christina Holberg Fenger.

The perfect match

Christina Holberg Fenger joined Balder as Head of Property Management in 2018. In the autumn of 2021, she took a short leave to focus on a generational transition within her family business, before returning in early 2022 as Deputy CEO.

“Flemming and I have shared leadership responsibilities for seven years, and together we have helped build the Balder Denmark that we know today,” she says.

Flemming Joseph Jensen adds:

“We have different strengths that complement each other perfectly. Christina’s background is in property management, business development and customer relations, while mine is in transactions, finance, funding and project development. We share a strong focus on people and the Balder spirit, which together create a solid and broad foundation. It is a great pleasure to enter into a joint executive leadership role with Christina, and I look forward to our continued close collaboration.”

A model that works

The Co-CEO model is not unfamiliar within the real estate industry. It is a structure that works particularly well when two leaders with complementary competencies choose to share responsibility.

“For Balder, this is a deliberate decision. It is not an experiment, but a well-tested structure that reflects the way we already work. We have practised this model for seven years, and we know it works,” says Flemming Joseph Jensen.
