Part of a Larger Group

Balder Denmark is a subsidiary of the Swedish listed company, Fastighets AB Balder, which is based in Gothenburg. Fastighets AB Balder was founded in 2005 by the entrepreneurs, Erik Selin and Sharam Rahi. After starting with a portfolio of about 60 properties, we now own and manage more than 1,900.

With 20 years of experience and more than 1100 employees, Balder builds on a solid foundation of experience and stability.

In addition to a high growth rate in our property portfolio, we are also expanding across national borders and now operate in six countries.

Balder in Sweden

The journey began in 2005 in Gothenburg

Our headquarters is located in Gothenburg, Sweden, but we additionally have several local offices throughout the country. In Sweden we own both residential and commercial properties and hotels.

Balder in Finland

In Finland, we are known as Sato Oyj

In 2015, we bought shares in the Finnish company Sato Oyj, in which we now own 54.4%. That means we manage more than 26,000 flats in cities such as Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and Jyväskylä.

Balder in Norway

An university and apartments in Norway

In 2016, we acquired Hedmark University approx. 15 km north of Oslo. In 2018 we further bought a property in Oslo. The property is completely renovated and consists mainly of apartments.

Balder in Germany

In Germany, we own seven hotels

In 2018, we bought seven hotels in Berlin, Leipzig, Erfurt and Gelsenkirchen, with a total of 800 rooms and a rental area of over 40,000 sqm. They are all managed by Ligula.

Balder in United Kingdom

Office buildings in the heart of London

In 2019, we acquired 8 Fenchurch Place and 11 Ironmonger Lane, both of which are office buildings located centrally in London.
