A piece of Paris in Ørestad South
In December, the French-inspired bakery, La Boulangerie, will open its doors to the residents of Ørestad. And with its rustic décor, French music and, not least, French specialities, the bakery brings a slice of Paris to Ørestad.
Imagine stepping into a French oasis where you can hear familiar music from 'Midnight in Paris' and smell croissants that the French-speaking baker has only just taken out of the oven. This scenario will soon become a reality to the residents of Ørestad South. This is where the bakery, La Boulangerie, opens its doors, and if everything goes according to plan, this will happen in December.
"My partner and I share a great love for France and especially the French bakeries, and our guests will feel this passion when they visit La Boulangerie. Here they can get French specialities, such as croissants, baguettes, brioches, kouign-amann and many, many more. We will also spice up the menu with Danish specialities. We will often add new delights on our menu, so you can always get to taste new flavours," says Cedric Decaudin, who owns the bakery with Jerome Bellini.
Much more than just a bakery
Balder Danmark owns the property Bastionen, where La Boulangerie opens, and according to project manager Alexander Barlow, the real estate company has been looking for enthusiasts who could add something unique to the area.
"One of the most important things for us when building properties is to create an optimal framework for the community and quality of life. That is why we make room for shops in many of our properties. We were looking for enthusiasts who could create value, not only for Bastionen but throughout the area. We felt how Cedric and Jerome genuinely wanted to contribute to the area and the residents here, which is why we quickly decided that they were the right choice," he says. Balder has already welcomed thorsteinsson's, the event café COBRAcph, and the hair salon BeYoutiful Cph to some of their properties in Ørestad South. And Alexander Barlow says they are looking forward to welcoming La Boulangerie, which will be something special.
"It will not only be a bakery – it will be a local meeting place for the residents of the entire – both young and old. It will also be an obvious place to host, for example, children's birthday parties or other festive events – and the events can be held both in the bakery, on one of the terraces, or in the greenhouse. We also make sure that there will be areas where you can sit quietly with your computer and work," finishes Cedric.
Anitta Sørensen and her husband will be moving into Bastionen in October, and she is delighted that she gets a bakery just a stone's throw from away from her front door.
"It means a lot to me that there will be a bakery close to my new home because now it will be super easy to pick up delicious bread in the morning. Generally, many shops are popping up in Ørestad South, making the area much more attractive to live in," she says.
